Step(s) to Follow Expected Result

To show Boyle's Law:

1. Adjust syringe so that it contains a suitable volume of air.

2. Place 2-kg mass on top of platform and note change in volume.

3. Place a 2nd 2-kg mass on top of the first and note change in volume

Volume decreases as you add mass - the first mass causes a large decrease; the second causes a smaller decrease

To show Charles' Law:

Immerse in a beaker of hot water or ice water and note changes

The volume will change depending on the temperature
