Set Up Instructions:
1. Wheel bowling ball in a box into the lecture hall on a cart.
2. Unhook pendulum from the wall and connect to the bowling ball (it should not need to be unraveled, but do so if necessary)
3. Raise bowling ball to appropriate height. The rope in room 5 is marked with blue tape in 1 meter increments for ease of measurement.
4. Once ball is at appropriate height, tie off using a sailor's knot - the cleat hitch (halyard) works best. This link provides excellent instruction for this particular knot: https://www.101knots.com/cleat-hitch.html
Storage:
When not in use, be sure that rope is tied knotted and the hook is connected to the rope, as indicated in the photos below:

Caution:
Be careful when adjusting the rope. It is important that it never be raised so high that rope falls from the hook on the ceiling, as the height of the ceiling will make replacing it difficult to do prior to the start of a lecture.
